The LOTEC TT1000 was the most extreme expression of LOTEC's tuning philosophy: take the Ferrari Testarossa — already one of the most powerful and visually dramatic production cars of the 1980s — and transform it into something that bore almost no resemblance to the original.
LOTEC's twin-turbo conversion of the Testarossa's flat-12 engine produced 1,000 hp. The figure was not marketing hyperbole; it was the result of the same engineering discipline that had produced championship-winning racing cars. LOTEC had been developing TÜV-approved turbo conversions for Mercedes since 1985 — the TT1000 applied that knowledge to Ferrari's finest.
Alongside the engine conversion, LOTEC produced a complete wide-body kit in GRP — the same material and manufacturing process used for their Porsche bodywork since 1975. The result was a car that looked as extreme as it performed.
The TT1000 preceded the C1000 hypercar and the Colani Testa D'Oro, and can be seen as the project that proved LOTEC could build a 1,000 hp car. When Sheikh Al Maktoum commissioned the C1000 in 1995, LOTEC already had the experience to deliver it.
